Archery Fishing Hunting - Big game

Big game
Hunted animals are referred to as game animals. In wildlife, animals are an important asset. Traditionally targeted species are known as game, they are usually large mammals or migratory birds. Big-game are the large wild animals. A big-game hunter is engaged in the sport of hunting large wild animals or game. This might place the hunter at risk of personal harm. Big-game are bears, big cats, boar, elephants and moose. There are all types of guns available for hunting.

Big Five
The Big Five are the five large mammals that were originally most sought in Africa. The term is used in the tourist guides of the African wildlife. The collection consists of:
the lion (a large carnivorous feline mammal),
the elephant (a large carnivorous feline mammal),
the buffalo (they are the most dangerous of the 'Big Five' game animals, with the longest list of attributed trophy hunters' deaths),
the leopard (a large, ferocious cat) and
the black rhinoceros (a large, thick-skinned, herbivorous mammal).

The members of the big five were chosen for the difficulty in hunting them and not their size, these animals are among the most dangerous mammals.

Sport fishing
Sport fishing is fishing for pleasure or competition. The International Game Fishing Association (IGFA) makes and oversees the regulations and obligations for fishing. Sport fishing, or recreational fishing, is done with a rod, line and hooks attached to a lure or bait. Most hobbyist enjoy to make their own baits. Examples would include the use of fishing worm molds, etc. This is known as angling.

Fishing techniques; Catch and release
When angling, the catched fish should all be returned to the water. Some consider it unethical to inflict pain on a fish for fun or sport and not for reasons of capturing food. Anglers state that fish have tough mouths and won't feel a thing. The practice of catch and release is increasingly necessary in order to conserve fish stocks in the face of burgeoning human populations, mounting fishing pressure and worsening habitat degradation. The only way for growing numbers of recreational fishermen to continue fishing is to reduce their impact on fish populations. To improve fish stocks, follow these techniques together with catch and release:
strong tackle; get fish in quickly, for release in good condition,
careful handling of fish and barbless hooks to reduce physical damage,
quick release lead systems such as the Korda quick release system,
use barbless hooks, they reduce damage to minimal levels and reduce de-hooking time.

Fishing competitions
In sport fishing, the fishing competitions or tournaments are getting more and more populair. Fishermen compete for prizes based on the total weight of fish caught within a predetermined time. Sometimes the competition is purely on length with mandatory catch and release.

Big-game fishing
Big-game fishing describes fishing from boats to catch large open-water species such as tuna, sharks and marlin. Noodling and Trout tickling may be pursued as a recreation.
